With the Mac Dock you can easily start a program with a simple keystroke. You will notice that the Mac Dock has quite a bit in common with the Windows Task-bar. With a better understanding of the use of the Task-bar, you should become more efficient in your use of windows. Press enter, and you have placed a shortcut for the application on to your Task-bar.
Using the down arrow key, move to the item titled pin to Task-bar. The simulates a right mouse click and will launch a context menu. Then press the designated right mouse key for jaws, this is the num pad star.

The windows Task-bar is the place where most of your open documents and applications can be found.
